Fishing...

We went fishing at the pond in our subdivision. No fish but the kids really enjoyed it! Elaina made this picture collage of our fun... she loves being creative!

The Wizard of Oz

We're off to see the wizard.......Our Subdivision put on the Wizard of Oz play this summer! We practiced a couple of weeks and then put on the play to a full crowd!
It was a great summer activity for the kids and was a great way to spend time with friends and make new ones!

Elaina was a little old lady munchkin...she was not excited about it at first (of course, she wanted to be the main character Dorothy!) but in the end she loved it and it was perfect for her!

Travis was a hip hop lollipop kid....he wasn't so sure about it either but in the end did a really good job. His performance was so cute and had everyone laughing, it was great!

Suzanna was a ballerina munchkin and a little poppy. She was so cute and loved dancing and being dressed up! She got to lead the poppies out into the audience for their dance which she loved!

The day of the performance was windy but everything worked out and the kids all did such a good job!

In the end we were all glad we did it, but it was also nice when the play was done! We will definitely be doing it again next year!

Our Garden....

I have really enjoyed having a garden this year!!!

Here are our 3 boxes .....
and some vegetables that are growing!

Fun with the Martin cousins!

This is all of the Martin cousins, except Lainee. We need to take another one next time she is in town!
We are loving our cousin days with family! We decided to have cousins days this summer, just like last year, and spend Wednesday's with the Martin cousins. The kids all love to get together and just have fun.
Eagle Island is nice to have so close and a good place for the kids to have some good clean fun (well, not so clean!)
Elaina loves to play with Amanda and go out to the yellow line. They have lots of fun together.
Travis is so lucky to have a good buddy to play with. Travis and Brandon are always together!!!
Suzanna is just too cute...I don't know what I'm going to do with her!!! She is just such a cutie and loves to have fun!
Now, John and Makenna I don't know about them! They always seem to be crazy and silly and have fun together! John was loving the little raft and Makenna was loving pulling John all over the place!
I think John ate more sand then chocolate! Oh, summer time!!!

The Iron Man!!!

On Saturday we went down to the half Iron Man race. We started out with the idea to just look for Blake and Brigham while they were on their bikes riding in South Boise, but ended up going to the finish line to see them both finish the race! It was one of the rainiest days ever (Makenna calls it the rain race)!
This is where we say Blake riding his bike (we missed Brigham). On the left is Grumpy, Travis and Duncan. As we were watching for Blake we could see lightning that looked like it was touching the long rode they were riding on. I was very worried about all of the bikers. We were so amazed at the different people who were in the race... there were lots of women and older men. It made me think of how out of shape I am, hopefully I can do better!

The kids all had fun with their cousins watching for their uncles. John couldn't stop running around! They were even passing out little bells that all of the kids loved to ring. I could feel the peoples pain as they were coming down the last stretch before the finish line!
After awhile we figured out that each runner had their age written on the back of their leg (in black marker). It was fun to see every one's age, there were some old people who finished the race really fast!
This is Blake (right next to the person in the bright yellow shirt) making the turn to run some more! I can't imagine seeing the finish line and then having to turn and keep on running!
Here is Brigham finishing the race!

We were all sooooo proud of both of them! They did such a good job!

Elaina's Activity Day Field Trip

Elaina's activity day's group went on a field trip and I got to be a chaperon!!! I had a fun, full van of girls! We went to the Anne Frank outdoor memorial in downtown Boise. It was a beautiful day and the girls all had a fun time. One of the leaders first talked with the girls a little about Anne Frank and her life and how lucky we are to be free and worship the way we want. Then the girls went around to the different stations and listened to more about her.
Then over by a beautiful water fall they had quotes from different people about equality, one of them from Gordon B. Hinckley.
Then we walked on the bridge that leads over to BSU. We had a great time!
